I was reading over Sandy's post (http://www.theguildv2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=255) (sorry I didn't post there but I didn't want to take over her wonderful thread with this suggestion) and I had a little suggestion for the holidays... how about a Secret Santa/Gift Exchange? We've done this on a few forums I owned over the years and our members loved it. Whether you have a new toon that needs items or just a toon that loves collecting items, it's so much fun having a gift in your mailbox! We could just exchange names by posting in a thread, have someone pull the names, pm the member the name of the toon they have, setup a time for everyone to meet to add the toon as a friend (using an account that nobody would recognize if you don't want the other toon knowing you have them) and send gifts a few times a week before the holiday. I know many of you don't know me, but I would be more than happy to help with this.....any thoughts?

What a fun idea, everybody loves gifts! I might even have a secret toon, too!:santa2:

Please do not sign-up in this thread - it's just the suggestion thread
Ok, this is how we did it.....
We could start a new thread with the following information
I thought it would be fun to surprise your Secret Santa by mailing little gifts during the exchange and end with a bigger "main" gift.
How the exchange would work
After reading the following information, if you are interested in participating, please post the toon name you will use to RECEIVE the gifts and a few gift suggestions by noon Sunday, December 12. Remember, you may not receive the gift you want if it is not in the other toons Cattlelog, but suggestions are helpful. If you have a new toon, maybe use it if you need phrases, emotions, and furniture
Every post in a thread is numbered, (the # in the right corner of the post) the reply numbers will be used to match you up with your Secret Santa. The numbers will be placed in a hat and drawn one by one. The first member to reply will be matched with the first number pulled from the hat. For example, since the first post of a thread is reply #1, if you posted second in the thread, you will be reply #2. We will start by matching reply #2 with the first number pulled from the hat. If we pull #4, the member that was reply #2 will send to the member that was reply #4. Once the numbers are drawn, you will receive a private message letting you know the member you have. If everyone signs up by Sunday, December 12, we can have the names drawn and sent via pm to everyone by that evening.
We can designate a time and date for everyone participating to meet up and add each other. If you cannot make the time, we can help you work out something. You can also team up with a friend - if your friend is friends with the member, they can tell you when the member is on TT and where to find them. The exchange will start the same evening and end Sunday, December 26. You must send the "main" gift before noon on Sunday, December 26.
Remember, some names are listed on the guilds main “toon” page and in your profiles. Try sending gifts from an unknown account if you want it to be a "secret"

Sure - I wasn't sure where it should go so I just posted it in the Guild News (http://www.theguildv2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=323)
One other thing...What day and time is good for everyone to meet and add their Secret Santa? Since we are ending this on Thursday, should we try Friday evening?

It sounds as if at least three members are available Monday night. How about 5:30 EST Monday, December 14? Will this work for everyone?
Pam, yes, we don't want anyone catching on....we will meet in a big group.
adamsnan, I included a time zone chart below. I hope it helps. :) I only have the U.S. chart saved right now.
