As indicated above, shortest possible run, now that the warehouse glitch is gone, is 20 cogs for 480 merits.

Now that I think of it, another variation on the short run is to swing left instead of right out of the entry - same number of cogs, but probably a few less merits because the cogs are 3, 5 and 6 instead of the 5, 5, 6 skelecogs. It's just habit to go the skelecog way - I'll have to check out that other short run. Someday. Maybe.

A run that I like better is to swing back after the first skelecogs like you are doing a long run and pick up the three cogs at the top of the stairs. Then its a very short run to the warehouse, and you get 544 merits for 23 cogs.

If you sweep through the six skelecogs in that diamond shaped room, you will have done 29 cogs for 656 merits. This run omits only the six cogs in Stomper Alley.

Finally, there is the full run that gets you 776 merits.

For 2150 merits, four of the 544 runs gets you 2176. For 2360, two of the 544 plus two of the 656 gets an even 2400. Very quick and efficient.

I like the various short runs because I can do two or three with one friend without getting gags. Also, the short runs avoid mostly lower value cogs, so you get more merits per minute spent.
