Leader: SNAPPY! Get in here!
[A chubby little blue mouse bumbles into the room, huffing from the short running distance.]
Snappy: Ye-yes sir..?
Leader: You see this, Snappy? [He holds up a card with a face on it.]
Snappy: Yes, sir, I do see it... Wh-what is i--
Leader: You IDIOT! READ IT! Geez. Sometimes I feel like I have to do all the work myself.
[Snappy grabs the card and looks at it, his hands shaking] [The leader stares at him as he lights his cigar.]
Snappy: Ah.. It says... 'Detective Jay Royale' 'ID code 6837295937' 'Government Official, Head in the TTUCA'
Leader: [He puffs his cigar] What do you get from that...?
Snappy: [Shaking even more] I don't know..
Leader: Aww... that's okay... No. Wait. IT'S NOT. I'll tell you what this means though.. IT MEANS THAT WE COULD BE STOPPED. Finding this outside of Toontown Central MEANS that this 'Jay Royale' was on his way some where in Toontown Central. Do you know who lives in Toontown Central...?
Snappy: N-no...
Leader: DUDLEY. DUDLEY J. GARBALI! The former leader of the ToonTask Force. -_- [I]If this JAY is talking to him... then our whole corporation is in jeopardy.
Snappy: Oh.. well why do you need me, boss...?
Leader: I just needed to tell you so you can make the announcement. Make sure you tell EVERYONE. Tell them to get ready... tonight we need to compile more information on this 'Jay Royale'.
Snappy: Yes, sir.
[Snappy takes off towards the loud speakers that are on top of the building.]
Snappy(speaking into the speakers): EVERYONE!! Attention! I have a message from our Leader!
[Everyone turns their head towards him. People in their houses open their windows and stare up.]
Snappy(stuttering): ...Alright, um. Tonight, he says to be prepared for a compiling of information. We need all the info we can get on this detective of the name 'Jay Royale'.
[The people cheered a little and went back to their daily, dark lives.]
Snappy: Phew... [He hops down from the loudspeakers and walks back into the leader's office.] Is there anything else you need sir...?
Leader: Yes... call up Mr. Fox. I need to have a word with him...
[The leader glances behind him, Taffy is bound to a chair facing a corner in the dark side of the room.]
Leader: ...and make sure you tell him about Jay Royale.
||Back in Donald's Dreamland||
[In his apartment room, Jay has woken up and is getting ready for the day when he realizes Taffy is still not there.]
Jay: That's odd... Taffy is still gone. Well, maybe she was here but left to go to the store... it is 12:30pm.
[As he finishes combing his hair, he walks over to his door and opens it. On the ground a newspaper sits. He picks it up, closes the door, walks over to the coffee maker to put his coffee in, and sits in his chair next to the coffee table.]
[He flips the newspaper open to the first page]
Jay(in mind, reading): Top Story: Odd noises coming from the sewers. Investigators are now looking for evidence of young rabble-rousers either doing drug deals, illegally selling objects, or any other scandals. There have been no reported sightings of these delinquents so far. The police say they plan to check the sewers to make sure that there are none of these happenings in ToonTown.
Jay(in mind): The police...? Going in the sewers just to see if there are drug deals? I mean, a pipe could be broken. You can't just judge a certain noise to be something.
[The coffee maker beeps. Jay walks over and grabs his coffee, then sits back down.]
Jay(in mind): Hmm... although it could be a drug deal, there's been plenty of that lately.
[He takes a sip of his coffee.]
Jay(in mind): But wait, who would even report that they heard something from the sewer? How would you be able to even hear it... you're on the noisy street. Unless... that person was putting their ear to the vent. Odd.
[He reads on.]
Jay(in mind, reading): Police also say that it was reported by a mere citizen, a lavender dog went missing just yesterday beside the sewer. This was fairly late at night. They also say they were the only ones to witness it. The officials are ready to start checking this sewer for more evidence.
[Jay is about to take a sip of coffee. When he reads the line again, he puts his coffee down]
Jay: Lavender dog...? No... it couldn't be Taffy. It was probably a lizard or something. Yeah, a Lizard...
[He puts the newspaper down and starts to panic. His mind races with different thoughts and possibilities.]
[His cell phone rings, startling him.]
Jay: AHH! ....ah.. Oh. [He answers it.] H-hello....??????
Dudley: Jay. I need you down here right now.
Jay: Hoo...... okay. Sure thing. I'll be right there ASAP.
Dudley: ASAP is not soon enough. [Call ended.]
Jay: [Puts his phone in his pocket and gets ready to go.] I wonder if he read the newspaper...
||Toontown Central||
[Jay walks over to the bridge and pushes a brick in to open the door. As quick as possible, he runs inside.]
Jay: What'd you need, Dudley?
Dudley: I suppose you've read the newspaper? I did too. That lavender dog is, well, I am supposing your fiance, right?
Jay: ...
Dudley: Sorry to bring this up, but if you want to save your fiance we're going to have to come up with something. A plan. I know who's doing this Jay, and I am going to tell you right now we're in deep crap if we can't get out of this. This is serious. No pie, seltzer, or trap door is going to stop them.
Jay: o_o Are you serious? This 'team' you are talking about can't possibly be that strong!
Dudley: Vampz has ultimate power over the servers. He's messed with 'em once, he'll mess with them again.
Jay: ...How do we stop this team.
Dudley: You see, they are more of a community. A bad one. They support one leader, Vampz. I believe, when he stopped hanging out with the ToonTask Force, he took a member, Snappy, with him. Snappy was never a good agent, he'd always slack off and get scared. He was also a glutton.
Jay: Does this really matter?
Dudley: Yes it does, if we learn more about their characters, we can define the situation. Therefore, winning the battle because of the outline we have.
[Dudley hops off of his chair.]
Dudley: Vampz and Snappy need to be stopped before all of the servers are merged and become one server.
Jay: One server?
Dudley: There is an abandoned server, Zanyport. Vampz called it his home. He would tell us how he'd always train there, how he'd met his first love there. He loved that district. Until it disappeared. After it did, he always talked about making a new district just for him called Wackyville. I told him it was a bad idea. Just let Toontown design it.
[He sighs.]
Dudley: But since he knew that I ran the servers a little, he got jealous and tried to force me to create one for him. I denied it. ...Oh... did he get mad...
Jay: So... what do we do? We're still only two people. Even if I'm the 'best in the business' as you said... we need help.
Dudley: Exactly. You know Gyro, yeah?
Jay: Yeah, we're good friends.
Dudley: Tell him I need him as well.
Jay: Why?
Dudley: We're going to have to team up with the cogs to make our army stronger.
