Chapter 4
I followed Flippy to Toon Hall. He was going so fast I almost lost him. My Converse snapped against the ground and my pale purple jean skirt and fireworks shirt flapped. My shutter shades almost flew off. He skidded to a halt before entering. I bumped into him. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me in forcefully. "Only speak when spoken to and answer every question truthfully!" he snapped in a whisper. We walked into where the Toon Council was gathered. They stared at the visitors curiously. "Mickey!" Flippy cried. "She has the, the, the, powers!" He stumbled over his words. My eyes grew wide. I was feeling smaller and smaller. "She does...?" Mickey said after an awkward silence. He nodded. He pushed me forward impatiently. I froze and my pupils were as small as pin-tips.
Mickey pointed to the water can, half full, and the Summer's Last Rose in a small pot he placed on a desk. "Can you make this can water the rose?" he asked with an awed voice. I closed my eyes. Concentrating. I want the water can to water the rose. I want the water can to water the rose. I opened my eyes. I looked on as the can rose steadily, and slowly poured water onto the rose. Gasps erupted in the room. "Test Two." Mickey said with a quivering voice. He placed a bucket on one side of the room and a small slip of paper on the other. "Put the paper in the bucket." He said. I completed the task without even having to concentrate. "Test three." he said uncertainly. "Move someone in the room." People began whispering immediately with each other. Mickey motioned for silence. I looked, scared, around the room. I closed my eyes, and concentrated. Opening them, Flippy began to float into the air, slowly and carefully. He touched the ceiling lightly. When someone screamed I dropped Flippy abruptly. "AROOO!" He yelled upon impact.
I left hurriedly even though Mickey was yelling, "Stop! STOP!" I ran as fast as I could. Faster, faster. Matt, who had been waiting for me, had to run at top speed to catch up. By the time he did we were in Donald's Dreamland. "What's wrong?" he yelled as he closed up to me. I jumped up onto the gigantic bed that was the floor and lay down on it. It's soft material comforted me. "What's wrong?" He asked. "I- I don't know." I told him the whole story. "After someone screamed, I thought something bad might happen. I zipped out of there because I was afraid, I guess." I stretched. The soft ground comforted me. "Sounds like someone needs a hug." Matt said in a comforting tone. He wrapped his arms around me and I nuzzled against his chest. I purred softly. We sat there together until someone entered Dreamland and we left to our houses.
During all of this, Ron was singing merrily. "Gonna have myself a pizza, pizza, gonna have myself pizza, yea!" It was the last day his 'pizza' had to stay in the barn. He smiled happily to himself. "LALALALA, LALALALA, ELMO'S WORLD!!" he sang next. His busy day ended with him singing "lullaby baby" to his pizza in the barn, then going to bed. He couldn't wait for the next day, when he would make people eat his pizza!
