Disciplinary decisions may be appealed through the Appeal Procedure. All Appeals should be kept in PM's and/or e-mail correspondence and should not be publicly posted. If you have concerns regarding an incident, please feel free to discuss the matter with them via an e-mail or PM. Do not create a new topic simply for the purposes of questioning a moderator's decision.
Any posts containing inappropriate content will either be edited or removed from the forums and posting such Words/Phrases/Content after being warned can result in being suspended from the site for a given amount of time defined by the infraction and the Moderators. Examples of inappropriate content can be found below under Forum Guidelines. Impersonating or acting like you are an administrator or moderator is not allowed and can get you permanently banned. If a user finds a thread or post that is inappropriate please report the thread or post and let the administration and moderating staff handle the situation.
Forum Infractions may result in actions being taken that can range from written warnings to temporary suspension to permanent suspension depending on the severity and frequency of the offense.
Attempting to bypass a suspension by accessing the forums with another account will result in a permanent, immediate suspension.
It is very important to us that our staff is honest and fair to every member. If you feel that one of them is not following site rules or has been unfair to you, we want to know. If you have a problem with a Moderator, please report it to an Administrator.
Forum Guidelines:
Posting To Forums
Posting to forums enables you to communicate and collaborate with others. Our site is an online forum and is similar to the classic definition of the word: forum -- A public place or medium for open discussions. You access forums by clicking on the forum link and by clicking on the title of the individual forum you want to view.
Please post in the appropriate forum. Don't be upset if we move your post to a more appropriate forum. In the event you find your post "missing", please attempt to locate it in what might be a more appropriate forum by using the Search feature. You can also find your post by looking in your statistics on your user profile, under posts.
Each forum has a name and a brief description with it. This makes information easier for people to find if they have a similar question or are interested in the same things.
We reserve the right to move, remove, or close any post for any violations or reasons we deem necessary. (Disciplinary action will be taken on a case-by-case basis depending on the severity and frequency.)
Inappropriate/Non PG Rated Discussions
Posts which contain inappropriate pictures or external website links, violence, racism, and those which we deem inappropriate or that offend users will be removed. If you are uncertain as to whether a certain subject, word, image, or link is allowed, contact a moderator or administrator before adding it to this site.
Posts which contain information or description of scams or fraudulent activity are also unacceptable and will be edited or removed accordingly.
This applies to all forums, threads, posts, social groups, private messages, user pages, profiles, avatars, signatures, visitor messages & music choice.
Profiles may be checked for content periodically & if deemed inappropriate will be removed and will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Personal Information
Please do not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES post, or ask for, personal information in these forums. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, full names, cities, school names, friend’s names/information, passwords, ages, account information, or any information that could assist another person in locating you or stealing your identity. This includes, but is not limited to, passing this information to another through the Private Message (PM) system and anywhere within member profiles. If anyone asks you for personal information, please let an Administrator or Moderator know right away.
For more information on Internet Safety for children please visit some of these sites:
WiredKids.org (http://wiredkids.org/)
Disney's Online Safety (http://home.disney.go.com/guestservices/safety)
Game Codes
Do not post "Secret Codes" ("True Friends Codes") in the forum. You may post that you would like Toontown Secret Friends or special codes from other games and request that someone PM you a code, but the posting of these types of code in the forum is not allowed.
Language
Profanity is not allowed. This includes abbreviations. However good they might sound said out loud, they are not appropriate in posts. Just to clarify, crap and butt are not considered profanity, but shouldn't be over-used.
English Only <REMOVED>
You may post in any language, but keep it clean. Any profanity will be removed.
Off-Topic Discussions:
Please post in the appropriate forum. Posts that have subject matter inconsistent with the forum you are posting in will be moved. If your post/thread doesn't make sense, it will be deleted or moved. Also, there are some topics that are not appropriate for the forums. All posts are subject to these rules. Excessive off-topic posts will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Controversial Content
There is an area for this. It is access restricted by age, and allows for content not considered appropriate for the public forum areas. This does NOT mean the area is "anything goes". Posting genuine content is a different thing from posting for shock value. Think before you post. Again, mods don't like to edit.
Please also remember when posting to this area: other people will be reading what you write. They might not agree with it and will likely say so. This should not be taken personally. Not everyone will agree with you on everything all the time. Be prepared. Enter and post at your own risk.
Outside Links
Outside links must be approved by an Admin and must be on the approved list link before you post them. You can find the approved link list here (http://www.theguildv2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=758) .
Also, do not mass-mail or post visitor messages to other users with links to other forums or sites. This can result in a suspension.
Custom Profiles
Custom profiles are available. While the custom profile function is fun to work with, please make sure that your customizations do not make the text invisible or difficult to read.
Custom Signatures/Avatars
Signatures, avatars and profile pictures MUST BE appropriate for the public forum area. No personal photos or adult/controversial subject matter is allowed in signatures, avatars or profile pictures.
We expect all users to be considerate to others who are trying to enjoy the forums. Although we love seeing seeing the creativity displayed in our members' custom signatures, excessive signatures cause the flow of the threads to be disrupted and make the forum harder to read. Your signature image may be no bigger than 750 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall. Multiple images when put together must not exceed the 750X200 limit. You can add text above or below your image(s) but no more than three(3) lines of size 4 text. If your signature is taking up half the page, it's too big.
So the total dimensions of the image(s) in your signature should not exceed this size:
http://www.theguildv2.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=693&pictureid=11646
"This is a deep, meaningful quote from some dead person" ~Dead Person
Toon Name ☻ Toon Name ☻ Toon Name ☻Toon Name
____________
Admin reserves the right to determine whether your images and text combined are excessive.
Song in User Pages and Profiles
All song in User Pages and profiles must be songs you would hear on the radio. Those that are too explicit will be removed. We are all mature here and currently there is no approved list, we would like to keep it that way.
Pictures and Video
Posting of pictures and video are alright, as long as they are not offensive or obscene. If you want to put a picture of yourself in your album, that is allowed, but they must be put in a private album that is not viewable to the general public.
Please be aware that personal photos in albums are seen by all members. Therefore all personal photos should be placed in a private album. Only friends on friends list will be able to see personal photos.
Flaming
Flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. Any post intended to incite a reaction from another user is not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. People flaming wish to upset and offend other members of the forum. We refer to these types of posters as "trolls". This is not allowed in any of the forums, threads, posts, social groups, private messages, user pages, profiles, avatars, signatures, visitor messages, music choice or avatars.
THIS APPLIES TO ALL MEMBERS!
In plain English, this is the difference between "I disagree, here's why", and "That idea stinks and you are an idiot". Editing is not fun for anyone, including the ones who have to edit you. Remember to treat others as you would like to be treated.
Cyber-Bullying & Cyber-Stalking
Cyber-Bullying is when one person or a group uses modern interactive technologies to harass someone. They are strictly for negative reactions only to antagonize others. Cyber-Bullying counts as Flaming, and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. This is not allowed in any of the forum, posts, private messages, userpages, profiles, signatures, visitor messages or avatars.
The practice of cyber-bullying is not limited to children and, while the behavior is identified by the same definition in adults, the distinction in age groups is referred to as cyber-stalking or cyber-harassment when perpetrated by adults toward adults. A pattern of repeated such actions against a target by and between adults constitutes cyber-stalking.
Trolling
Trolling is the act of purposefully antagonizing others and can result in banning. If you see another user trolling, don't feed them, report it. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Spamming
Spamming can be considered multiple things; but overall, spam is any post that does not follow or contribute to the subject matter of the original topic.
PM (Private Message)/VM (Visitor Message) Spam
Please do not mass-mail or spam people's visitor message area with requests to do something/join something/ etc. This can also result in a suspension.
Spam has been allowed in some parts of the forums, such as the off-topic area or special user sections. However, in the main part of the forum, it will be removed. As a general rule, if it doesn't fit with the topic of the thread, don’t post it.
Irritating Posting Styles
Please post so people can read what you are saying. If you use excessive punctuation, no punctuation, hard to read colors, funky fonts, repetition of words and other hard to read posting styles, your post may be deleted or edited so that it is readable. This also applies to threads, posts, social groups, private messages, userpages, profiles, avatars, signatures and visitor messages.
Sharing and Multiple Accounts
Members are only allowed to have one account. If you have more than one account, your additional accounts will be suspended indefinitely. Multiple members of a single household are encouraged to each have their own account. That way you may each state your own opinion freely. (This does not apply to forum Moderators or Administrators.)
Do not ever allow others to use your account. If they do something that is against the rules, your account could be suspended.
If you do need to have more than one account in your household, contact a staff member to let them know. Otherwise, you will be receiving a PM to find out why you have two accounts.
Naming Names[hunt=Easter2012|177;0]
Naming someone's name in post that has offended you either in the game or on the forum is not allowed. If someone misbehaves in the game, report them to the maker of the game. If they offend you on the forum, report them to a Moderator or Administrator. "Name" includes a real name, toon name, username, or other game tag that will positively identify a person to others.
Hacking and Hacker Discussions
Besides mentioning that you were hacked, do not discuss hacking on our forum. If you feel that your Guild v2.0™ Forum account has been hacked, please let an Admin know about it.
Thread Bumping
Do not bump your own thread for at least 24 hours after you post it. You may bump your thread again only 24 hours after each bump.
Religion:
For the record and this is for everyone of all faiths:
We have no problem with anyone's faith no matter what it is, as long as they are comfortable with others' faiths and do not come seeking converts.
Preaching is not allowed. Stating your religion is not preaching, nor is a reference to God. "You really ought to believe in [insert belief here]", would be preaching. "You shouldn't believe in [insert belief here]" would be as well. It's a form of harassment, because it insults something close to a person's heart.
Beyond that, we do not see a point to banning all reference to something that is such a big part of most people's lives.
Also, "Thank God" or "God bless you" are fine.
Deleting Accounts:
We do not delete accounts, however if you want to leave, we can make your account inactive. Please PM an administrator for that.
Impersonation Of Other Users
Anyone creating accounts with similar names as other users to impersonate them will be banned from the site. Anyone impersonating an administrator or moderator will be disciplined. If a user finds a thread or post that is inappropriate, please report the thread or post and let the administration and moderating staff handle the situation.
Breaking Forum Rules:
Breaking forum rules can result in immediate actions such as written warnings, temporarily being suspended or permanent suspension from this site, depending on the severity and how many times it happened.
We will not tolerate:
-Profane language
-Rated R or X material, either in picture form or the posting of websites that show it or music that plays it.
-Violence: Do not threaten or discuss violence here, that includes racism.
Images and music depicting violence are not allowed.
-Any acts that violate law
Publicly discussing actions by the moderators is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: bans, warnings, locks, and moved threads. Any inquiries or comments on bans, warnings, or other moderator actions, are to be sent in private messages or via email.
If you have an issue with the actions of any moderator, you should contact an administrator via private message.
Reporting Problems:
The Moderators watch the forum closely, but because there can often be many posts per day, it is important that you be vigilant. If you see a post that breaks our site rules, please report it by clicking the red triangle in the upper right hand corner of each post.
When reporting a post, please be sure totype a message that tells who posted the post and how you think it breaks site rules. Please do not contact members yourself; let the Moderators handle those that break site rules.
When you report a post, all Moderators and Administrators will receive an email, so you can be assured it will be handled quickly.
Rule Changes/Adjustments:
We reserve the right to adjust the rules as we deem necessary contingent on newly discovered situations.
Thank you for reading and abiding by the rules. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact an administrator.
